ORA-00000 normal, successful completion

Cause: An operation has completed normally, having met no exceptions.
Action: No action required.

ORA-00000 comes under "Oracle Database Server Messages". These messages are generated by the Oracle database server when running any Oracle program.

  1. Yeah, looks like a none-issue but it isn't!
    Just encountered that problem after a (hard) reboot of a Linux DB-server in Amazon.

    After a DB start attempt I got "ORA-00000" errors.
    Was the operation successful completed? Nope!

    Basically the issue was that the hostname wasn't resolved anymore (hostname changed during reboot). After adding a correct entry in /etc/hosts this issue was resolved.

    And database was REALLY starting, not just saying "ORA-00000'
